While the frame is lightweight it does not sacrifice any strength and is capable of easily supporting up to 286 pounds. The comfortable 18 in. x 17 in. seat will accommodate most adults and makes the 170 Tilt and Recline Rehab Shower Commode ideally suited for use in an institutional capacity.

The Model 170 is highly versatile and can be adjusted to fit users' needs and preferences. When the unit is reclined/tilted the hip angle of the patient is opened while the lower legs are simultaneously elevated. This allows for a comfortable and secure position for the patient. The headrest is similarly adjustable, able to change the height, angle, and horizontal positioning to securely and comfortably support the patient's head. The armrests flip back to provide the caregiver access to the patient, making it possible to use a side transfer to move the patient into and out of the shower commode.
